It’s really happening! Summer is basically here… the world is opening up… I’m planning my MF wedding!
You may have seen my post about one of the things I’m doing to get wedding-ready. And it got me thinking: it’s been a while since I shared some of my favourites du jour. So let’s bring that back, shall we?
Hell, why not spice things up and give one lucky person a few of my faves to start their summer off right!?! (Rules and how to enter are below.) Let’s dive in — summer favourites coming in hot!
Skincare:
As I said in my Instagram post, I’ve signed up at Plain Jane Skinbar for a monthly facial. Not only is it more time and cost effective, but it allows the treatments to make a difference on a deeper level. Sporadic facials only treat the surface issues — my new monthly plan has me digging deep and fixing the root problems.
Also, if you’re not wearing sunscreen everyday (you should be!) be sure this time of year you’re protecting your skin. I bought the Skinceuticals SPF 50. It goes on so lightly, you can even reapply over makeup.
Manis and Pedis:
What’s summer without a fresh set of nails — every few weeks! I’ve been going to Arezoo from 2009-2020 in the solarium of her Yaletown condo for all of my mani/pedi needs. Right before the pandemic hit she opened up Ari Beauty and it’s no surprise to me that she’s still pushing through even with that bad timing. The BEST, most meticulous manicure in the shortest amount of time. What’s not to love?
Footwear:
Obviously I need to flaunt my new pedi. And when I buy sandals, they’re from local, North Vancouver mom and former action sports star, Jen Rainnie. Jen’s one of my favourite people on the planet and her line of footwear, Malvados, never disappoints.
Summer reads:
The books I’ve recently loved will accompany any park or lakeside chill session. I can’t say enough good things about American Dirt — it’s the best book I’ve read in a long while. I’m just about finished Where The Crawdads Sing and it’s a beautiful tale. If you’re looking for something nostalgic and fun, Moxie is a great beach read.
